Come join Stephen Shkardoon and Sarah Beavan as they tie the knot
The wedding will be held on the Thursday 23rd November, 2023 at Boomrock, Wellington.
Food will be provided at the venue. Please ensure any dietary requirements are noted in your RSVP. Otherwise, there will be a set of options available to choose from on the day. There will be a bar tab for drinks that covers wine and beer.
Transport to and from the venue will be provided. This will be leaving from TSB Arena at approximately 2PM. Don’t be late, as there is no alternative transport, and you cannot drive yourself. As the venue has limited space available, guests are not able to drive to the venue themselves. If you do require a specific exception, please get in touch, as the space is very limited and we’ll need to confirm each and every exception.
There will be multiple buses through the evening to return guests to the city. If you have a specific time to return, please let us know so we can ensure that this will be possible.
The dress code for this event is semi-formal, but we’re not going to kick you out if we don’t like what you’re wearing. It will be just getting into summer at the time of the wedding, however Wellington has a nasty habit of remaining cold, wet and windy into the later months of the year. We recommend bringing at least some warmer clothing such as a sweaters or windbreakers.
Please ensure you RSVP before the deadline of the 29th of October 2023. If you haven’t recieved an RSVP link, please get in touch ASAP.
There are several activities available at Boomrock throughout the afternoon, including:
While not all are available, you can find further information on boomrock.co.nz/book-boomrock-experiences-activities/.
Children will be welcome (though not required) at the event, though we’re not going to be providing any specific child-friendly activies (other than the food and soft drinks). We are not aware of any specific babysitters, though this may be an option for you if you organise it.
We’ll be planning a few casual events around the day of the wedding, so if you’re coming a few days early or staying a few days later, you’ll get a chance to get to know other parts of our families and friends. We’ll put more details here once we’ve figured them out.
If you’re coming in from the airport, it’s a 15-minute drive into the city where most hotels, cafes, and restaurants are located. If you are driving from the north island, State Highway 1 will lead you into the city.
There is public transport in the form of buses all around Wellington that are very frequent and great for getting around (we would recommend grabbing a public transport card. There is Uber if you would prefer that. The city itself is very walkable, so you should be able to walk anywhere that you need to get.
We don’t have any specific recommendations for places to stay in Wellington, however, we do recommend you stay in Wellington Central, as this is where any transport will be provided to and from, and it will mean you’re right in the heart of everything to do in Wellington. If you notice you’re in somewhere called “The Hutt”, you’ve made a big mistake! If anyone has any particular questions about this, please just get in touch with us.
Wellington has a vibrant restaurant and cafe scene. Pretty much anywhere in the central city is going to be great. If you’re looking for something that’s not food or drink related, check out:

We already have our house established with all the items we need, which is why we’d rather you gift us with your presence. However, if you insist, you can contribute to our home renovation fund. Get in touch and we’ll give you the details (and make sure you can’t give a sneaky anonymous donation).
Just get in touch with us and we’ll help you out!
